‘Adrift’: Jared Leto and Darren Aronofsky Reunite For New Horror
It’s been twenty years since Jared Leto starred in Darren Aronofsky’s insane film Requiem for a Dream. Now sources for Deadline have discovered that they will reunite for a new film, Adrift. Sources say that Leto will star in the aquatic horror with Aronofsky set to direct, with Jason Blum attached to produce through his Blumhouse banner.

Adrift, is based on a short story by Koji Suzuki, who also wrote The Ring. Aronofsky and Luke Dawson (The Lazarus Effect) are in charge of writing the script.
“The story is set in the dead calm of the open sea, where a fishing boat discovers an abandoned yacht with a strange distress call. A deckhand agrees to take lone control of it while it’s towed into port, but soon he discovers why the rest of his more experienced crew members call it a ‘Ghost Ship.'”
Adrift will likely set production for sometime later this year. As Aronofsky’s next feature, A24’s The Whale, will begin filming this March with Brendan Fraser.
