‘The Midnight Club’ Taps Heather Langenkamp and More as Mike Flanagan Sets New Netflix Series Cast

Netflix and creators Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong have set the cast for The Midnight Club. The new horror series will consist of 10-episodes based on the book by bestselling author Christopher Pike. Deadline reports that the series is under Flanagan and Trevor Macy’s Intrepid Pictures banner, which has been under a deal with Netflix since 2019. The series was co-created by Flanagan and Fong, with Intrepid’s Trevor Macy, along with Julia Bicknell and Christopher Pike, all on board as executive producers.

The Simon and Schuster novel written by Christopher Pike was published in 1994.  The Midnight Club follows a group of terminal teens in a hospice home. Within the Rotterdam Home, five teens meet at midnight and tell horror stories. This club eventually leads them to make a pact, whoever dies first must attempt to contact the others from beyond the grave.

Flanagan announced the new cast members via Twitter. Filling out the cast for the teens are Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, William Chris Sumpter, Sauriyan Sapkota.

However, Flanagan also announced that Heather Langenkamp of A Nightmare on Elm Street fame would be playing the doctor who presides over the hospice. “I’m honored to welcome Heather Langenkamp. To horror fans like myself, Heather is royalty, and I am so excited to work with her,” Flanagan added. Also joining Langenkamp are Zach Gilford, Matt Biedel and Samantha Sloyan in supporting roles .
