‘The Eternal Daughter’ A24 Boards Tilda Swinton Starring Ghost Story

A24 has acquired the world rights to a new ghost story The Eternal Daughter, which stars Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton according to sources for Deadline. The cast also includes Joseph Mydell, Carly Davies and Alfie Sankey-Green.

The film was shot secretly in Wales during the Covid-19 lockdown. The Eternal Daughter is directed by Joanna Hogg (The Souvenir) and is the third time Swinton and Hogg have collaborated. Swinton also starred in The Souvenir and The Souvenir Part 2, the latter which will debut later this year.

The mystery-drama, currently in post-production, will chart the story of a middle-aged daughter and her elderly mother who must confront long-buried secrets when they return to their former family home, a once-grand manor that has become a nearly vacant hotel brimming with mystery.

The Eternal Daughter is currently in post production and expected to premiere sometime in 2021. While we don’t have many details about the film, A24’s involvement means we may seem some more arthouse horror. Such as their previous releases like Saint MaudMidsommar and Climax.
