SXSW: Saban Films will Release Crime-Thriller ‘The Silencing’
In an official press release, Saban Films announced that they have acquired the serial killer-thriller, The Silencing. The film was an official selection of the SXSW Film Festival slated for the Midnighters program. The script was penned by Micah Ranum as his debut feature film with Anova Pictures’ Cybill Lui Eppich (Pay the Ghost, After the Dark) producing. Saban Films, which partnered with XYZ Films on the project since script stage, executive produced along with XYZ Films’ Aram Tertzakian and Maxime Cottray, will release the film in the U.S.
The film is directed by Robin Pront’s (The Ardennes), and stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones, Shot Caller), Annabelle Wallis (The Mummy, Peaky Blinders) and Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince).

The Silencing follows a reformed hunter living in isolation on a wildlife sanctuary who becomes involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse when he and the local Sheriff set out to track a vicious killer who may have kidnapped his daughter years ago.
Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley said, “Nikolaj and Annabelle are fantastic in this thrilling tale that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.
