Stephen King Praises Netflix’s Zombie Horror ‘Black Summer’

Black Summer hit Netflix just last week, but already it’s attracted the attention of the King of horror. The show is set in the early stages of a zombie apocalypse, and stars Jaime King as Rose. Viewers follow Rose as she fights to find her daughter, with the chaos closing in around her.

The show is a companion prequel to Syfy’s zombie series Z Nation, which was cancelled last year. Therefore, its set in the same apocalypse, but the stories have no connection. Received well by fans of zombie horror, the show also gained the attention of Stephen King. Who took to Twitter to show some love for the new Netflix series.

The praise did not go unnoticed by show creators Karl Schaefer and John Hyams. Along with executive producer David Michael Latt, the trio responded with obvious excitement.
