Netflix’s ‘Abducted in Plain Sight’ Will Leave You Asking, Wtf?
We all assumed that the Netflix FYRE Festival Documentary was going to be our only crazy manipulation story in 2019. But nothing could have prepared us for the insane documentary Abducted in Plain Sight. This true story told by the family, explains how their daughter was abducted by a family friend, twice. Yes, you read that right, but the craziness is much more dark and twisted than just kidnapping. With interviews from the FBI, family and friends, a story of manipulation, judicial failures and a community hellbent on avoiding issues, comes to light.
The hour and half long film gives you so much insight and information that will leave your head spinning. The Broberg’s explain that they were just your typical church-going Utah family. But after a new family joined their church, things quickly take a dark turn. The story spans years and features many jaw dropping moments that are leaving viewers angry and thoroughly creeped out. The documentary was released on Netflix on Jan 15th and it has already caused many to take to social media for answers.
The documentary also gives insight into how a man convicted of kidnapping was still allowed to be in contact with his victim. The documentary tries to explain that the word ‘pedophile’ was not in use during the 70s. Unfortunately that doesn’t make this story any easier to swallow or understand. Moreover, the film gives viewers a hard look at the naivety of 1970s America. Abducted in Plain Sight was directed by Skye Borgman and is streaming on Netflix, so check out the insanity for yourself.
