Gillian Jacobs joins ‘Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink in R.L. Stine’s ‘Fear Street’ Trilogy

THR announced that Gillian Jacobs has been cast in the upcoming adaptation of R.L. Stine’sĀ Fear Street. With filming already underway in Atlanta, Jacobs will join Kiana Madeira, Sadie Sink, Olivia Welch and Fred Hechinger Jr., and more.

Leigh Jeniak is directing the project as a trilogy. Filming of all three films will take place back-to-back with Chernin Entertainment producing.

Set in the town of Shadyside in 1994, the film will focus on a group of teens. They discover that the deadly occurrences in their town have been happening for centuries, and are connected. The other storylines are set in 1978 and 1666, before finishing up back in 1994.

Jacobs will appear in multiple movies, and will be playing the survivor of a massacre that took place at summer camp in 1978. Details on the distribution plan are still unclear since the Disney takeover of Fox. However, during development, rumors were that the trilogy would be released consecutively about a month apart. But we will have to wait for official word.

R.L. Stine’s Fear Street will be released sometime in 2020. But for now, you can catch Jacobs in the upcoming Amblin horrorĀ Larry, which is currently in post-production. Be sure to follow to ScaryNerd for all things horror!
