Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard in Talks for Upcoming ‘Ghostbusters’ Film
Cast and script details have begun to emerge for Jason Reitman’s upcoming Ghostbusters project. Earlier rumors that the movie was about a team of young kids, were inaccurate. Instead, the upcoming film will center on a single mother and her family. We have also learned that Carrie Coon and Finn Wolfhard, are reportedly, in talks to join the project. Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson, have already tweeted their support for the movie. But we are still awaiting Bill Murray to address the new film publicly.
Reitman has stated that the film is set decades after Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz, and Winston Zeddemore saved the world. However, there is no word yet if Aykroyd, Hudson and Murray are attached. Or if Harold Ramis will be honored, as he was in the 2016 Ghostbusters film.
Hopefully, more cast and script details will be released soon. But for now, you can catch Coon in The Leftovers and, Season 3 of Fargo. And Wolfhard can be found in Netflix’s Stranger Things and the upcoming It: Chapter Two. The project isn’t scheduled to be out until 2020, but you can check out the teaser trailer below.
