Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s New Series ‘Truth Seekers’ Heading to Amazon
Nick Frost and Simon Pegg are reuniting for a new series! Their new comedy-horror series, “Truth Seekers” will be headed to Amazon Prime Video, according to Variety. The series is the first from its stars’ Sony-backed production company, Stolen Picture. Which will focus on a pair of paranormal investigators who uncover and film paranormal sightings across the U.K.
The pair will co-star, with Frost playing the character of Gus, and Pegg playing the role of Dave. The ghost-hunters stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers, and abandoned hospitals using an array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos. With the hope of sharing their adventures on an online channel. As their investigations continue, the paranormal encounters grow more frequent, terrifying, and even deadly. Eventually they begin to uncover a conspiracy that could threaten the entire human race.
“Nothing but a joyride”
Frost, Pegg, and Miles Ketley formed Stolen Picture back in 2017. “Simon, Miles and I, and everyone at Stolen Picture, are incredibly happy to be making ‘Truth Seekers’ with our new partners, Amazon Prime Video,” Frost said. “It’s been nothing but a joyride in seeing this mad tale of paranormal conspiracy unfold in all its understated brilliance. Amazon’s commitment and support of the show, and of original programming generally, showed us that we couldn’t be collaborating with a bigger or better team.”
As we know, Pegg and Frost have appeared in a number of projects together. From the hit series including “Spaced” to movies including the Edgar Wright-directed “Cornetto Trilogy,” which included “Shaun of the Dead, ”Hot Fuzz,” and “The World’s End.” More recently they starred in Slaughterhouse Rulez with Michael Sheen.
Pegg says that Amazon Prime Video is the perfect partner for the series. “Nick and I are delighted that ‘Truth Seekers’ has found a home with Amazon Prime Video. We’re looking forward to working closely with them and creating something very special. These are truly exciting times for television, and I can’t think of a better partner than Amazon to accompany us on a return to the smaller screen.”
“Truth Seekers” will feature eight episodes that will have about a 30 minute runtime. Pegg and Frost are co-writing the series with Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz, with production beginning this September. Saunders and Serafinowicz will also executive produce alongside Ketley and Jim Field Smith who will also direct.
