We last heard about the sequel to the 2016 film, The Boy when the official title was announced. Now Fandango’s Summer Movie Preview has finally, given us our first look at Katie Holmes in Brahms: The Boy II. The film is due out in theaters this July, with director William Brent Ball returning. Stacey Menear has also returned to pen the script for the sequel. You can read the synopsis below:
Unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion, a young family moves into the estate, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms.
Starring alongside Holmes is Ralph Ineson (The Witch), Owain Yeoman (The Belko Experiment) and Christopher Convery (The Girl in the Spider’s Web). The Boy II will be produced by Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi and Eric Reid, in addition to Matt Berenson, Jim Wedaa and Roy Lee.
A trailer was recently shown at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, however, it hasn’t been released to the public yet. While there, Holmes spoke about her experience filming Brahms: The Boy II. “This was pretty terrifying to make when we were working with the doll, it was a lot. I was scared. I felt like this was a story about a mother and her child and this evil presence that’s influencing her child, and how that’s a universal fear for every parent,” Holmes said.
STXfilms and Lakeshore Entertainment’s Brahms: The Boy II will be in theaters July 26, 2019. So be sure to follow ScaryNerd for all things horror.
