‘Wellington Paranormal’: ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ Spinoff Gets Trailer and Premiere Date

In spring it was announced that ‘Wellington Paranormal‘, the New Zealand spinoff to the Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement‘s What We Do in the Shadows, would finally be making its way to American screens. The series has been around since its premiere in 2018 in NZ.

Now in its third successful season, U.S. viewers will finally be able to see ‘Wellington Paranormal’, just before the return of season three of the hit FX spinoff seriesWhat We Do In The Shadows‘. The CW will begin running the series in July with next day streaming on HBO Max.

The series follows Officers Minogue (Mike Minogue) and O’Leary (Karen O’Leary), who reprise their respective roles from the 2014 film. These Officers are ready for anything as they find their town full of supernatural occurrences like UFOs, possessions, werewolves and more. As the trailer below shows they clearly have perfected that deadpan unawareness that worked so perfectly in the film.

Check out the trailer for Wellington Paranormal below and the series will air beginning July 11 on the CW, with episodes available to stream the next day on HBOMax. Don’t forget, What We Do in the Shadows will return for its third season on FX, this September 2. As always be sure to follow ScaryNerd for more of all things horror, sci-fi and more.
