‘Umma’: Sandra Oh is Haunted By Her Mother in New Trailer
Everyone fears turning into their parents right? Well Sandra Oh’s character in her new film Umma, can’t seem to stop her dead mother from controlling her. Umma is the debut feature of director Iris K. Shim (The House of Suh) who also wrote the screenplay.
Starring alongside Oh, is Dermot Mulroney, Fivel Stewart (Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman), MeeWha Alana Lee (Good Egg) , Odeya Rush (Goosebumps) and Tom Yi (The Purge). The film was produced by Sam Raimi and Zainab Azizi of Raimi Productions through their development deal with Starlight Media.
Umma follows Amanda (Oh) and her daughter (Stewart), who live a quiet life of beekeeping on an American farm with no phones, internet, ect. But when the remains of her estranged mother arrive from Korea, Amanda becomes haunted by the fear of turning into her mother.
