Latest Stephen King Adaptation ‘The Boogeyman’ Adds David Dastmalchian, Marin Ireland and More

Today Stephen King‘s next adaptation The Boogeyman added some new faces Deadline exclusively revealed. The story is based on Stephen King’s 1973 short story by the same name, which appeared in his novella Night Shift. David Dastmalchian (Dune), Marin Ireland (Y: The Last Man), Vivien Lyra Blair (Bird Box) and Madison Hu (Voyagers) have all signed on to join Chris Messina (The Sinner) and Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets) in 20th Century Studios horror-thriller.

The Boogeyman is being directed by Rob Savage (Dashcam, Host) and follows a 16-year-old and her younger sister who are still reeling from the death of their mother. After their psychologist father encounters a desperate patient in their house they become targeted by a supernatural boogeyman.

Mark Heyman (Black Swan), Akela Cooper (Malignant), Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place) all have writing credits attached to the current script.

The Boogeyman has entered production in New Orleans, LA and will debut in 2023 on Hulu in the U.S., on Star+ in Latin America, and on Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories. Be sure to follow ScaryNerd and we will keep you updated as this story develops.
