The Walking Dead adds Sons of Anarchy Star Ryan Hurst
Sons of Anarchy fan favorite Ryan Hurst has just been added to season nine of The Walking Dead. Hurst, known for his character Opie on Sons, will have a recurring role as The Whisperers second in command, Beta. Alongside Fantastic Beasts alum Samantha Morton as Alpha and Ozark’s Cassidy McClincy as Lydia, Alpha’s daughter.
The Whisperers are a group from the comics that wear walker suits in order to roam about undetected. They are set to aggravate Rick’s group, which may have some inner turmoil to deal with after last seasons finale. It has been previously confirmed Andrew Lincoln’s Grimes will be exiting the show this season.
As previously reported by TheWrap another group will debut next season with Nadia Hilker as Magna. Actresses Lauren Ridloff and Eleanor Matsuura will star as Connie and Yumiko as well.
Hurst was more recently seen in Bates Motel and Bosch and will star in the upcoming A Million Little Pieces. Although he may be as equally well known for his role as Gerry Bertier in Remember the Titans.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 7.
