Netflix’ ‘Wednesday’ Adds Christina Ricci to the Cast
Netflix revealed today that Christina Ricci was added to the cast of the upcoming Tim Burton directed series Wednesday. Fans have been hoping that Ricci would have some roll in the new spinoff, even starting an online petition once news of the series dropped. She starred as Wednesday in the 1990s The Addams Family franchise opposite Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia and Christopher Lloyd.
The new series will follow the title character, played by Jenna Ortega, through a coming-of-age comedy, penned by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar. Viewers will watch as Wednesday Addams navigates life at Nevermore Academy. It’s described as a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery.
