The 10 episode series from writers Josh Boone (The New Mutants) and Ben Cavell (“Sneaky Pete”), shows what happens when a computer glitch allows a super-flu to escape a Defense Department laboratory. Society is torn apart as the flu spreads across the world. Once the smoke clears 99 percent of the population is gone. The immune become caught in the crosshairs of a battle between good and evil. The Cast
Casting is still underway, however, James Marsden (Westworld) is in advanced negotiations to play Stu Redman. A Texan who is immune to the Captain Trips super-flu virus. Stu is tasked by Mother Abigail, the 108-year-old epitome of good, to confront Randall Flagg, evil incarnate. Amber Heard (Aquaman) is in talks for the role of Nadine Cross, who believes she is destined to be at Flagg’s side. Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost) is in negotiations for the role of Mother Abagail. Greg Kinnear (As Good as It Gets) is in negotiations to play Glen Bateman, a professor who joins Stu on his journey. Odessa Young (Assassination Nation) is in talks to play Frannie Goldsmith, a pregnant woman who sets out with a fellow survivor, Harold Lauder. Henry Zaga (The New Mutants) will play Nick Andros, a young, deaf-mute who joins forces with Mother Abigail and company.
Lastly, Marilyn Manson did not reveal what character he would play for the upcoming series. However, we are thinking he could be perfect for the role of Andrew “Poke” Freeman.
