It has been about two years since Bill Murray told us how much heart Ghostbusters: Afterlife would bring to the franchise. Today fans finally got their first look at the full trailer for the new film scheduled to hit theaters this November. Ghostbusters: Afterlife was directed by Jason Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman, the man who directed the first two films.
The new film stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd, all of which are new to the franchise. But as the trailer reveals, the original story of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and the late Harold Ramis will have a major role to play. We have heard that all of the living members will reprise their respective roles as Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, and Winston Zeddemore.
We only see a glimpse of them in the new trailer. However we do get to see Annie Potts discussing the late Egon with his surviving family members. Ghostbusters: Afterlife focuses on the family of Egon Spengler (Ramis) who inherit a house in the middle of nowhere. The children find that their grandpa left this house for a very special reason. They will have to figure out how it all connects and discover the “secret legacy” they’ve also inherited.
