No Season 3 of ‘Castle Rock’ as the Stephen King Based Series Canceled at Hulu
It’s official, we have taken our last trip to Castle Rock. Deadline confirmed that the series would not be returning for a third season. With Season 2 having premiered over a year ago, fans had been wondering if/when they would see another season. Hulu answers those questions today, canceling the psychological horror series.
The series was developed by Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason, and produced by J.J Abrams. Castle Rock is a fictional town, created and inhabited by various Stephen King characters, based on stories from numerous novels. Fans got to explore some of King’s characters, storylines and watch it unfold together.

Fans headed to Shawshank State Prison to watch a mysterious man on death row in Season 1. In Season 2 viewers watch as budding psychopath, Annie Wilkes, on the run and ends up in the town of Castle Rock. The cancellation comes as Warner Bros TV is now focusing its content toward HBO Max. There are currently no plans to bring this series to the new streaming platform.
Castle Rock is the latest series to be canceled at Hulu, and most likely won’t be the last. The pandemic continues to slow down television and film productions around the world. But you can currently binge both seasons of Castle Rock now on Hulu. Be sure to follow ScaryNerd for more of all things horror.
