IFC To Bring Us Christmas, Family, and Satan in ‘I Trapped the Devil’
Coming this Spring IFC Midnight will be bringing us a Christmas Horror film I Trapped the Devil. Formerly titled “A Man in the Dark” this marks the debut for Writer/Director Josh Lobo. Lobo also produced with Rowan Russell, Scott Weinberg and Spence Nicholson. He stated “IFC have really been at the forefront in the resurgence of thoughtful, filmmaker-driven genre films, I can’t think of a better home for my film.”
“It’s the Christmas season, a time of peace and joy with friends and family. But when Matt and his wife Karen show up unannounced at the home of his estranged brother Steve to celebrate the holidays, they are instead greeted with a disturbing surprise. Held hostage in Steve’s basement is a man—though not just any man. Or perhaps not a man at all. Steve believes that he has captured the human manifestation of the Devil himself. As shock and skepticism turn to fear and paranoia, Matt and Karen find themselves caught in a spiral of terror and doubt.”- IFC
So get ready to try to figure out the age old question: is my relative crazy or not? Hopefully this Christmas/Horror will give us some answers, and some heart racing horror. This is Us and Stranger Things alum Chris Sullivan is among the strong cast. However, the rest of the cast is just as horror savvy, and includes Jocelin Donahue (The House of the Devil), AJ Bowen (You’re Next), Susan Burke (Stan Against Evil), and Scott Poythress (Homeland).
