'IT: Chapter Two' New Images Bring the Fight Back to Derry

Fans have been waiting for the second installment of Andy Muschietti’s adaptation of the Stephen King classic, IT, since the first chapter’s release in 2017. With the release finally on the horizon, EW has given fans a first look at the film and the new Losers’ Club in action. IT: Chapter Two is headed to theaters this coming September and Muschietti says it will be an overwhelming experience. “I think that everything that people love from the first one, like the humor and the emotions and the horror, will all be there, and cranked up, in some cases.”

Any doubts that fans of the 1990 adaptation had, were quickly put to rest after the first film. Which had a $35 million-budget and went on to gross $700 million world wide. IT: Chapter Two is set 27 years after the events of Chapter One, when the Losers’ Club fought off Pennywise. Now he’s back and haunting the sewers of Derry once again. The group must reunite and hopefully put an end to Pennywise’s reign of terror.

Back and Forth

Joining the Losers’ Club as adults are Jessica Chastain, as Beverly; Bill Hader as Richie; James Ransone as the sickly Eddie; and James McAvoy as Bill, Jay Ryan as Ben, Andy Bean as Stanley, and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, the one member of the Losers’ Club to remain in Derry. But don’t worry we will also get to see the child version of the cast again, this time as memories. “Which is great, because that would be real sad if we had to say goodbye to that cast that the audience across the world fell in love with. And actually, in a weird way this movie resembles the structure of the book, in that it goes back and forth,” McAvoy told EW.
