‘It: Chapter Two’ First Footage Terrifies at CinemaCon
Plus, see photos of both versions of the Losers Club!
Pennywise is awake and hungry for more. The highly anticipated It: Chapter Two delivered it’s first look at CinemaCon on Tuesday. As we already know, the sequel to 2017’s hit is based on the Stephen King novel ‘IT.’ And follows the adult versions of “The Losers Club” 27 years after the events of It: Chapter One. The film, set in the present day, reunites the long lost friends, upholding a sworn blood oath.
Director Andy Muschietti was joined on stage by (almost) the entire cast including: Isaiah Mustafa and Chosen Jacobs as Mike Hanlon, Jay Ryan and Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben Hanscom, Andy Bean and Wyatt Oleff as Stan Uris, James Ransone and Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie Kaspbrak, Chastain and Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh, and Bill Hader and Finn Wolfhard as Richie Tozier. Absent was Bill Skarsgard, who plays the terrifying clown, Pennywise.

The First Look
EW released a few insights into what the footage has in store for fans. The first look focuses on an adult Beverly Marsh (Jessica Chastain), who returns to her old house in Derry, ME. After knocking on the door, she is greeted by a sweet old lady named Mrs. Kersh. Who informs Beverly that her father is dead, but offers her the chance to take to look around.
As Beverly tours the home, Mrs. Kersh asks if everything is as she remembers. Beverly replies, “cleaner,” as she finds Ben’s old postcard, which compares her hair to winter fire. A figure is seen being dragged into a room behind her, as she stops to reminisce.
Finally, while drinking tea with the elderly woman, she realizes something isn’t quite right with Mrs. Kersh. There are flies everywhere and there’s something unsettling about the current owner.
“You know what they say about Derry — no one who dies here ever really dies,” Mrs. Kersh says, before smiling. Beverly notices photos of the lady’s family on the walls, all of which look about a century old. She notices her father bearing a very close resemblance to the smile of Pennywise, whom had tormented the Losers as kids. Things quickly go off the rails as the old lady strips naked and comes for Beverly, saying, “I was always a daddy’s girl. Are you a daddy’s girl, Beverly?”
The rest of the footage reveals the adult Losers returning to Derry, with flashbacks of them as kids. Most noteworthy was Pennywise the Dancing Clown, looking like he did 27 years before. He turns and addresses the camera with a sinister “hello.”
It: Chapter Two comes to theaters on Sept. 6th. Be sure to follow ScaryNerd for more updates.
