Netflix has acquired a new horror/romantic comedy spec script The Hills Have Eyes For You. The script was written by David Stieve and will be directed by Tucker & Dale vs Evil helmer Eli Craig according to sources for Deadline.
“This is a unique underdog love story with genre bending scares and a lot of laughs,” says Eli Craig. “I think I’ll be in my element for this one.” Dan Farah of Farah Films, who are producing called it “a fresh and fun love story set against the backdrop of an elevated horror comedy.”
The Hills Have Eyes For You marks the first first studio spec sale for Stieve. However, he did co-write Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, the 2007 horror comedy.

He also directed the dark comedy Little Evil also at Netflix. Currently Craig is developing a new film for Blumhouse and Red Hour. Farah Films is currently working on the Hellraiser TV series at HBO with David Gordon Green (Halloween) set to direct.
