‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’ First Look in New Mini Documentary
We haven’t heard much about the highly anticipated sequel The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It since it was officially pushed from its September release date. However Warner Bros. recently released a new 30-min mini documentary featuring James Wan, Michael Chaves (The Curse of La Llorona) Gary Dauberman and more for Faith & Fear: The Conjuring Universe Behind the Scenes
The third in the franchise, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It features the return of stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren, with Ruairi O’Connor, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Julian Hilliard starring alongside them. In the documentary fans get their first look at the new film, which is currently set to premiere in theaters on June 4, 2021.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It will focus on the real-life case of Arne Cheyenne Jackson who was the first case to use demonic possession as a defense against a manslaughter prosecution. “The trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, this was an internationally-renowned case,” says Vera Farmiga, “which was the first time in the history of law in the United States that…”
“…that demonic possession was used as a reason for committing manslaughter,” Patrick Wilson finished. “You’re in for a much different ride than you’ve been on in other Conjuring films.”
Creator James Wan says that he wanted a different feel for the third film. “I really wanted The Conjuring 3 to get away from the whole haunted house set-up of the first two Conjuring films. It should be more on a whole different level, something that we’ve never explored before in the Conjuring world.”
