‘Orphan: First Kill’: Isabelle Fuhrman and Julia Stiles Sign On for Prequel
Orphan: First Kill is a prequel to the 2009 film Orphan starring Isabelle Fuhrman. Yesterday, Deadline announced that Julia Stiles boarded the Entertainment One and Dark Castle Entertainment film. They also confirmed that Fuhrman is back to play the role of the sadistic Ester.
Orphan: First Kill, was written by David Coggeshall and explores Leena Klammer’s (A.k.a Ester) escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility. Viewers will watch as she travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. However, her plans hit a snag when Leena is pitted against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.
Production is currently underway with director William Brent Bell (The Boy franchise) already filming in Winnipeg. Fuhrman, through the use of forced persecutive and makeup techniques will help to bring her character to life again.
The first film follows a husband and wife who adopt a 9-year-old girl after a devastating loss. But they soon discover that she is not everything she seems. Orphan was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, and starred Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard and Fuhrman.
Fuhrman’s next feature will be in Screen Gems’ Escape Room 2, which is currently set for a 2021 theatrical release. Thats all we know so far, so be sure to follow ScaryNerd for more of all things horror.
