‘Night Sky’: Prime Video Sets Premiere Date For New Series Starring J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek
Prime Video and Legendary studios have set the release date for the new sci-fi series ‘Night Sky’. Which will see a couple find a mysterious portal to another world in their own backyard. The show stars Sissy Spacek (‘Homecoming’, Carrie) opposite J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man: No Way Home), and was written/co-executive produced by Holden Miller.
Daniel C. Connolly serves as executive producer and showrunner on the series. Mosaic’s Jimmy Miller, Sam Hansen are also attached as executive producers, along with BAFTA Award-winner Philip Martin. Prime Video will drop the full eight-part Night Sky series on the streaming platform globally on May 20, 2022.
Spanning space and time, ‘Night Sky‘ follows Irene (Spacek) and Franklin York (Simmons), a couple who, years ago, discovered a chamber buried in their backyard which inexplicably leads to a strange, deserted planet. They’ve carefully guarded their secret ever since, but when an enigmatic young man (Chai Hansen, ‘The Newsreader’) enters their lives, the Yorks’ quiet existence is quickly upended…and the mystifying chamber they thought they knew so well turns out to be much more than they could ever have imagined.
As we said above Prime Video and Legendary Television, will drop all eight episodes of ‘Night Sky’ for your bingeing pleasure on May 20, 2022.
