New ‘Ghostbusters’ 4K Blu-ray Steelbook is coming with rare deleted scenes

In honor of the 35th anniversary of Ghostbusters’ Sony Pictures will hold the Ghostbusters Fan Fest on the studio lot. Then on June 11th, a brand new Limited Edition 4K Steelbook will hit shelves. The Steelbook will include both Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II as well as a ton of extras. Among the bonus features included in the new set:

There is no doubt the studio is ramping up interest for the new Ghostbusters film, from Jason Reitman, son of original director Ivan Reitman. The film will be a long awaited sequel to the original films, and will begin production this summer. Reitman had this to say about his upcoming project: “This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.”

So far few details have surfaced on the plot for the sequel. But we do know that Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon and McKenna Grace have been attached as “a family with ties to the 1984 story.” The film is currently set for a July, 2020 release date.
