Michael vs Jason Fan-Film Goes Viral For All the Right Horror Reasons

Horror fans have finally gotten to see Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees face off in the fan-made short Michael vs Jason: Evil Emerges. Posted on YouTube on April 5th, the nearly 30min short has already been viewed more than 2.3 millions times! Which proves just how much horror fans enjoy seeing villains, literally at each other’s throats.

Back in 2003 horror fans got to see two of their favorite 80s slashers battle it out in Freddy vs Jason. However, many of us had been waiting for that fight since 1993 when it was teased at the end of Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday. After that many rumors circulated about bringing back more of our favorite villains to square off against one another. Though none of those rumors turned into anything, horror fans decided to take matters into their own hands.

The video was posted by Radical Talent, and features Myers and Voorhees brutally facing off. The film opens with Debra Voorhees asking her corpse of a son to rise and kill again. After stalking off into the woods, viewers then watch as Myers, whom was captured, escape custody. As Michael chases the last cop into the woods, he stumbles upon Jason who was drawn by the gunfire.

“A short fan film we did with no budget”

Added details and mythology are apparent from both the Friday the 13th and Halloween franchises. Fans speculate that it is set some time after both Halloween (2018) and Freddy vs. Jason, as reflected by the choice of masks worn by Michael and Jason. The production of this fan-made film is relatively high-quality, considering the film boasts it as “a short fan film we did with no budget.” The soundtracks from both franchises are used to give and extra layer of suspense.

The battle itself, is surprisingly gory and brutal. Much like Freddy vs Jason, the short shows the pair meeting on their own respective terms. Much of the fighting styles are reflected from the actual film versions. Giving this fan-film a fight worth horror fans’s time.

This is not the first time that Radical Talent has made a villain vs villain slasher fan-film. Last years battle of Myers versus Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, also went viral and that video currently has over 4.3 million views.
