Latest Details on the Upcoming Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark Movie
Plot details suggest the film will follow one story line
Guillermo Del Toro’s recent tweet concerning the Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark film has created a stir among fans of the popular children’s book. Many have been speculating about which tales from the trilogy will be featured in the film. According to IMDB the basic plot states that, “a group of kids face their fears in order to save their town.” Per Collider, the film will be centered around a team of teens investigating several children that have gone missing. Opposite a vengeful spirit that will use the stories from the books as a means of exacting revenge. Further, the script has been said to contain two tales from the original books; “Harold” and “The Red Spot.” A tale in which a scarecrow comes to life, and spiders hatch from a boil on a young girl’s face.
Many fans were hoping for more of an anthology film, much in the way of CreepShow or more recently the VHS films. This news gives the sense that the film will be similar to a cross between IT and the Goosebumps films. While it is still too early to say exactly what will happen in this film, we will just have to wait and see. Hopefully, fans of the books will enjoy seeing these stories come to life on the big screen.
