Feast your eyes on Claes Bang, the Scandinavian star of the upcoming Netflix/BBC series, Dracula. On Wednesday, the Hollywood Reporter shared the first look at the series. The limited series is a joint venture between Netflix and the BBC. It is expected to be released sometime in late 2019/early 2020 and will consist of three 90-minute episodes.
Also joining Bang will be Lyndsey Marshal (The League of Gentlemen), Chanel Cresswell (This Is England), Matthew Beard (An Education), Lydia West (Years & Years), Paul Brennen (Happy Valley), Sarah Niles (Catastrophe), Sofia Oxenham (Poldark), John McCrea (God’s Own Country), Phil Dunster (Humans) and Millicent Wong.

The previously announced cast includes John Heffernan, Joanna Scanlan, Dolly Wells, Sacha Dhawan, Jonathan Aris, Morfydd Clark and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett. Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, the showrunner team who also rebooted Sherlock for the BBC, co-wrote the series. This retelling of Bram Stoker’s Dracula will reintroduce audiences to the vampire who “made evil sexy.” The story begins in 1897 Transylvania, where the Count is plotting against Victorian London. Filming has already begun, and the story will begin with the Count in 1897 Transylvania. Jonny Campbell (Westworld), Damon Thomas (Killing Eve) and Paul McGuigan (Sherlock) are set to direct the three feature-length installments.
