Emily Hampshire will star opposite Adrien Brody in Epix’s new series Chapelwaite, based on Stephen King’s short story Jerusalem’s Lot. Hampshire joins the cast just as production is set to begin in Halifax, Nova Scotia this April per Deadline.
“Set in the 1850s, the series follows Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.”

Emily Hampshire will play the role of Rebecca Morgan, a woman who has just returned home to write a story for a well known magazine. After suffering writers block, which only seems to lift after the Boone family arrives, Rebecca applies to be governess of the infamous Chapelwaite manor. While she is secretly there to find her story, she will also unravel a mystery that has plagued her own family.
Hampshire is most known for her character in the, non-horror, hit series Schitt’s Creek. However, she is no stranger to the horror/thriller genre. She has starred in the 12 Monkeys series at Syfy and just wrapped production on the thriller feature Home, for which she also served as executive producer. Up next she will head to Quibi for 50 States of Fright, a series produced by Sam Raimi.
Chapelwaite will begin production this April, with Epix hopeful for a Fall 2020 premiere. Be sure to follow ScaryNerd for more of all things horror!
