‘Brand New Cherry Flavor’: New Series From ‘Channel Zero’ Creator Coming to Netflix
Todd Grimson’s 1996 horror novel “Brand New Cherry Flavor” has been adapted into a limited series heading to Netflix this August on Friday the 13th. Starring Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel, Birdbox) as Lisa who is an aspiring filmmaker who comes to LA to kick off her dream career.
“Lisa N. Nova (Rosa Salazar) comes to LA dead set on directing her first movie. But when she trusts the wrong person and gets stabbed in the back, everything goes sideways and a dream project turns into a nightmare. This particular nightmare has zombies, hit men, supernatural kittens, and a mysterious tattoo artist who likes to put curses on people. And Lisa’s going to have to figure out some secrets from her own past in order to get out alive.”

The new series was written and executive produced by the team behind “Channel Zero,” Nick Antosca and Lenore Zion. The eight episode limited series also stars Catherine Keener (Get Out), Eric Lange (The Empty Man), Jeff Ward (“Agents of Shield”), Manny Jacinto (“The Good Place”), and Hannah Levien (The Magicians, Siren).
