The film is a Gothic thriller that Cooper has reportedly been trying to make for over a decade. The Pale Blue Eye “centers on a young cadet the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe (Melling) and a series of murders that took place at the United States Military Academy, West Point, in 1830.”

This will mark Bale‘s third collaboration with Cooper, having preiviously worked together on films Hostiles and Out of the Furnace. Bale is producing and playing the detective at the center of The Pale Blue Eye. There is currently no info on the roles the film’s new cast members will play.
