‘Renfield’: Nicolas Cage Will Sink His Teeth Into The Role Of Dracula For The Upcoming Universal Monster Reimagining
Nicolas Cage just fought off mutants and a whole wasteland full of craziness in Prisoners of the Ghostland. But his next role will take him into the land of the undead in the upcoming Dracula reimagining Renfield. The film will follow Nicholas Hoult as the titled character, whom is the familiar to Count Dracula according to sources at THR.
Director Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War) is set to helm the project from a script penned by Ryan Ridley (Rick and Morty), based on an original story outline from Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”). McKay and Kirkman are producing alongside David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst, with Samantha Nisenboim, executive producing.

The character of Renfield originated in Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula as the poor victim of Dracula who eventually became a patient in an asylum. He becomes obsessed with drinking blood, immortality and serves at the feet of his Vampire master, Dracula. While we don’t have many details on the plot of this film, it’s being described as a comedy and modern-day adventure story.
