‘Creepshow’ Scares Up New Viewer Records for AMC’s Shudder
Since the new Creepshow TV series was released in September, it’s has scaring Shudder subscribers. But it has also set a few new records for the AMC owned streaming service. Since its premiere on September 26, 54% of all Shudder members have viewed an episode of the series.
According to Shudder, Episode 1 had more minutes streamed in its opening weekend (September 26-29) than any title in Shudder’s history. Within its first week, Creepshow set a record for total minutes streamed on the service… a record that has been broken in each of the three weeks since.

Not only are current subscribers tuning in to the horror anthology. The series has also brought in record numbers of new Shudder members. As the series continues to unfold, fans and critics alike are enjoying the comic book horror series. It is currently one of the best-reviewed new shows of 2019 at 96% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Creepshow is a breakout series that’s hit the trifecta for streaming services: Shudder members love it, critics love it and it’s driving record numbers of new subscribers,” said Shudder GM Craig Engler. “Greg Nicotero and his team have delivered an amazing show that honors the original movie by George A. Romero and Stephen King while forging an identity that’s uniquely its own.”
The series’ fifth episode, starring Bruce Davison and David Arquette, will premiere this Thursday, October 24. Also, don’t forget to tune into Creepshow’s season finale on October 31. The finale will featuring horror legend Tom Savini directing an adaptation of Joe Hill’s story “By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain.” With two episodes left in the season, Creepshow is sure to continue to bring in more viewers for Shudder.
