Sam Raimi Says “We’re Working on Ideas Right Now” for the Return of the ‘Evil Dead’ Franchise
Yesterday Bloody Disgusting exclusively revealed that Sam Raimi is working on another installment in the Evil Dead franchise. Last year the series “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” which Raimi produced, was cancelled after its third season. During an interview for his new film Crawl, Raimi confirmed that something is in the works.
While discussing what the future holds for the franchise Raimi stated: “I’d love to make another one. I don’t think TV is in its future but we’re talking about – Bruce [Campbell], Rob [Tapert] and myself – one or two different ways to go for the next movie. We’d like to make another Evil Dead feature and in fact we’re working on some ideas right now.”

Of course the big question now is whether Ash, actor Bruce Campbell, will make another appearance. After the cancellation of the series “Ash vs. Evil Dead”, Campbell stated that he would be retiring the character. However, it appears that Raimi already has some ideas.
Will we see Ash again?
“I would be thrilled if Bruce Campbell changed his mind about retirement, would come back for the original Evil Dead line. But if not, I’m very happy to work with, if Fede [Álvarez] would come back and make the sequel… but he’s such a big shot now. He’s so successful, an artist in demand, that I don’t think he’d want to do that. But there’s also a third possibility we’re talking about,” Raimi added. While he did not elaborate on what that option might be, he was able to provide a timeline.“So I think you may see some action on the Evil Dead movie in the next six months.”
