90’s Cult Classic ‘Stay Tuned’ being Rebooted into TV Series
AMC Studios has announced that they are developing the 1992 comedy Stay Tuned, into a new a TV series. The 90s cult classic starred John Ritter and Pam Dawber as a husband and wife, who get sucked into a demonic cable satellite. According to sources for Deadline, Fear The Walking Dead co-showrunner/executive producer Ian Goldberg & writer/producer Richard Naing, will write the series.
While the original Stay Tuned storyline centered around a family who’s story ended, the alternate universe of ‘Hellvision’ holds many possibilities for an update. Perhaps the most notable memory I have of the film was the “Wayne’s World”, a.k.a “Duane’s World” segment. Which featured zombie versions of the beloved 90’s SNL characters.

Goldberg and Naing previously collaborated on Goldberg’s co-created Freeform series Dead of Summer. They also co-wrote Netflix’s 2019 horror movie, Eli, as well as The Autopsy Of Jane Doe. The writing team also recently sold feature adaptations of the Keith Donohue book, The Boy Who Drew Monsters, to New Line and the Stephen King short story, Little Green God of Agony to Lionsgate.
