New ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Will Resurrect Final Girl From Original Film
More details on the Fede Alvarez Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel that will be hitting screens later this year have emerged. Not only will we see an older Leatherface but BloodyDisgusting has uncovered that final girl, Sally Hardesty will also be back.
Sally was originally played by the late Marilyn Burns in Tobe Hooper’s 1974 movie. She also made small cameo in Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994) and portrayed a new character in Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013). However, she never got a chance to reprise her role as Sally before she passed in 2014.

Now the final girl of Sally will return with help of Mandy actress Olwen Fouéré in the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre that will see a decades-later sequel to the original horror classic. Setting up quite the reunion for Leatherface and the one who got away all those years ago. Where we last saw Sally laughing as she is safely escaping in the back of a truck as Leatherface angrily watches.
The new sequel was directed by David Blue Garcia (Tejano) for Legendary, and was written by Chris Thomas Devlin. The film which was shot last year stars Elsie Fisher (“Castle Rock”), Sarah Yarkin (Happy Death Day 2U), Mark Burnham (Wrong Cops), Moe Dunford (The Dig), Olwen Fouéré (Mandy), Alice Krige (“Star Trek”), Jacob Latimore (The Maze Runner), Nell Hudson (Victoria), Jessica Allain (The Laundromat), Sam Douglas (Snatch), William Hope (Dark Shadows), and Jolyon Coy (“War & Peace”).
