Chris Evans in talks for Greg Berlanti’s ‘Little Shop of Horrors’

THR has exclusively revealed that Chris Evans is currently in talks to play the role of dentist Orin Scrivello, in the big screen reboot of Little Shop of Horrors. The role was originally portrayed by Steve Martin in the 1986 movie.

The project will be helmed by director Greg Berlanti for Warner Bros. This film version is based on Roger Corman’s 1960 movie. Which was previously adapted into the cult classic 1986 film starring Rick Moranis, Steve Martin and Ellen Greene.

Currently Scarlett Johansson and Taron Egerton are frontrunners for the lead spots of Audrey and Seymour. With actor Billy Porter already attached as the carnivorous plant, Audrey II. The film is being billed as a horror-comedy.

Little Shop of Horrors follows Seymour, a meek florist who is secretly in love with Audrey, who both work at the struggling shop. Seymour becomes a celebrity when discovers a giant venus flytrap, which he names Audrey II. Things turn upside down for Seymour when his prized plant demands to be fed human blood, and eventually fresh meat.

As stated above Chris Evans will play the role of dentist Orin Scrivello. Audrey’s evil and abusive boyfriend, who also finds great pleasure in the pain of dental work.

Hopefully, if Chris Evans does end up with the role, we will see him preform the dentist’s musical number. The new adaptation is set to begin shooting this summer. Follow ScaryNerd for more of all things horror.
